About GrokCode
GrokCode covers programming trends, tales from the software development trenches, recommendations on development books and tools, and my opinions on anything related to programming. Occasional open source projects appear on GrokCode, when I have time to work on them, which lately hasn’t been too often. You may want to have a look at GrokCode’s open source Ravatars Wordpress plugin, or the Common Lisp joke generator if you are itching to see some code.
The purpose of GrokCode (besides having the dubious distinction of telling people I have a blog) is to attempt to give back to the community and learn what I can along the way.
About the Author
GrokCode is written by Jess (thats me!). I have a Computer Science degree from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). I am a freelancer, and normally only take on long-term projects. Lately my focus has been online Java applications and a whole technology stack that Java programming usually entails: JSP, MyFaces, Trinidad, Apache Tomcat. I have also done substantial work in .NET and dabbled in web programming (mostly PHP). I get down with Emacs, and enjoy using Linux.
